We have several young adult cats looking for permanent homes. When we hold our adoption days, the first thing that attracts the potential adopters are those cute little kittens. What they don't realize is that the cute little kittens grow to be "cats" quicker than they think and are a lot of work.
The young adults we have for adoption don't always show well at our adoption events and are rarely brought to adoption days for that very reason. Not all cats like to be held but sure do love a good petting and brushing.

Meet Spooky-Duke. He showed up at one of our volunteers homes with his mother and sibling. He played hard to get at first, but finally gave in with the help of some Tuna! He is approximately 2 1/2 years old, a large boy with a big belly and he has extra toes!

Sylvester was rescued from a backyard of a home in Tarrytown, NY when he was about 12 weeks old. As you can see by his facial expression :) he's a tough guy. He used to get sooo stressed at adoption days, that he would growl at everyone, but he really is a big mush at home. He loves to be pet, especially at feeding time! I think he'd be perfect in a quiet home if given a chance.

This is Patrick. He was rescued in January of 2007 when he was 8 weeks old. He only weighed 12 ounces and showed up at a woman's doorstep in a condo complex with his mother looking for food. He has remained in foster care due to the fact that he is not a lap cat and will only allow you to pet him on his terms! If you're ok with not having a lap cat, than Patrick's your guy! We would also consider a barn home for this young guy. We do feel however; that he would flourish nicely in a quiet home with a little one on one TLC!
ALL foster homes are full at the moment and we cannot take in anymore animals until some are adopted out.

This mom and daughter were rescued/fostered by a woman in Yonkers. Momma is very sweet, the daughter is a bit on the shy side, but they love each other. Won't you give these two a chance at a better life together? It would be a shame to put them back out on the streets of Yonkers. Current foster home is actually allergic to cats, so we need to place them soon. UPDATE: Baby was adopted out, so just sweet momma is looking for a home.
Courtney is just about a year old. She was rescued in Yonkers, roaming the streets trying to get in peoples houses or cars! She is very sweet and playful and has even decided that other felines aren't so bad after all. She gets car sick when we bring her to adoption days, so she doesn't show very well, but she really is a big mush.

Sassy is approx 2 years old. She was rescued from an industrial park area. We removed her due to the terrible conditions in the area and the fact that she is just a sweet cat. Her brother Hayes is also looking for a home and is just as sweet.

This is Sassy's brother Hayes, who is also looking for a permanent loving home.

This is Ginger, a victim of a young couple who parted ways and no one would keep her. She is 3 years old and is a hefty 15 lbs. She is a big butterball in more ways then one. She is a very affectionate gal and looking for a loving, permanent home.

This is Buster, another victim of abandonment. It seems as if his owners moved away and left him outside to fend for himself. He is a very affectionate cat, he doesn't like to be picked up but will jump up and take a seat on your lap for some loving.
