We have several young adult cats looking for permanent homes. When we hold our adoption days, the first thing that attracts the potential adopters are those cute little kittens. What they don't realize is that the cute little kittens grow to be "cats" quicker than they think and are a lot of work.
The young adults we have for adoption don't always show well at our adoption events and are rarely brought to adoption days for that very reason. Not all cats like to be held but sure do love a good petting and brushing.

Meet Spooky-Duke. He showed up at one of our volunteers homes with his mother and sibling. He played hard to get at first, but finally gave in with the help of some Tuna! He is approximately 2 1/2 years old, a large boy with a big belly and he has extra toes!

Sylvester was rescued from a backyard of a home in Tarrytown, NY when he was about 12 weeks old. As you can see by his facial expression :) he's a tough guy. He used to get sooo stressed at adoption days, that he would growl at everyone, but he really is a big mush at home. He loves to be pet, especially at feeding time! I think he'd be perfect in a quiet home if given a chance.
Petie, Angie & Spottie:
These kittens were rescued from a low income housing complex. They are all very sweet. The boys love to be pet and purr all the time. Angie is a bit more independant, but also sweet once she gets to know you. They all get stressed at adoption events, so they don't show well...but if given a chance they will adjust nicely to a new home, won't you give them a chance? They do not have to be adopted together.

This is Millie. She was also rescued from the Auto lot that Sonny Boy was rescued from. She is approx 1 1/2 years old, very sweet but will also let you know when she's had enough petting!
ALL foster homes are full at the moment and we cannot take in anymore animals until some are adopted out.
Courtney is just two years old. She was rescued in Yonkers, roaming the streets trying to get in peoples houses or cars! She is very sweet and playful. She'd prefer to be an only kitty. She gets car sick when we bring her to adoption days, so if you're interested in meeting her, please call and schedule an appointment to visit her.

Sassy is approx 2 years old. She was rescued from an industrial park area. We removed her due to the terrible conditions in the area and the fact that she is just a sweet cat. Her brother Hayes is also looking for a home and is just as sweet.

This is Sassy's brother Hayes, who is also looking for a permanent loving home.

This is Buster, another victim of abandonment. It seems as if his owners moved away and left him outside to fend for himself. He is a very affectionate cat, he doesn't like to be picked up but will jump up and take a seat on your lap for some loving.
This is Theodore. He has been visiting various neighbors homes in Pennsylvania. He's very sweet but rarely stays at the "so called owners" home. He definitely isn't being well taken care of since his fur is matted and he has burrs all in his tail. He is neutered, if anyone is interested in taking him in, we would take him to be tested for aids/leukemia and adopt him to you. It's very sad, the other night when it was pouring, he would walk around and hang in the window wells.
